MADERA, Calif. — Animal shelters across the valley are already stretched thin, and now a Madera nonprofit says it may be nearing a breaking point.
Just two days after warning it could soon reach its limit without community support on social media, the Friends of Madera Animal Shelter says more than 19 puppies were dropped off outside its facility overnight, adding even more strain to an already overwhelmed operation.
